Phoenix Cycle Shop also sells custom cafe racers

We service motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and snowmobiles.

Phoenix Cycle Shop is run by two certified technicians who began working on motorcycles together as childhood friends. The shop started in a garage and moved to Warren Avenue in 2014. This location allows Phoenix Cycle Shop to provide quality, friendly service in a convenient location – right on the line of Portland and Westbrook, Maine.

The Technicians

Phoenix Cycle Shop is owned and operated by two well-qualified technicians.

Steve Ward and Dave Edwards both graduated from the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida. They have gone on to continue their training and gain experience working with scooters, ATVs and snowmobiles.

Steve Ward

Steve graduated from MMI in 2008 and has worked as a mechanic ever since. He is the only Vespa certified technician in the state of Maine. He has worked on numerous makes including: Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, Piaggio, Yamahas and Suzukis. He is passionate about cafe racers and building custom bikes.

Dave Edwards

Dave graduated from MMI in 2004, specializing in Hondas and Yamahas. His pride is his 1999 Ducati Monster that he purchased for $200 after it had been in a wreck. Dave and Steve rebuilt it over the course of a winter and it now runs and looks just like new.

Special Projects

1988 BMW K75

This BMW was brought in by its owner, disassembled in boxes. The motor and rear end needed to be rebuilt and an entire custom bike was built around those things.

Honda CB400

This bike was a mild custom-build assembled with pieces made by local craftsmen. The seat was made by Maven Custom Seats. Saddle bag made by Weft and Warp Maine.

Honda CB550

This bike was a full custom cafe build including electronic elimination and rear end custom hoop and seat.

1981 Yamaha XS650H Special II

This 1981 Yamaha was rebuilt into a budget Cafe Racer/Street Tracker. This bike is now being enjoyed by its new owner.

Cafe One

The first custom build for the shop, built off a 1979 Yamaha XS 650. It came out so nice that Steve intends to use this bike as a personal commuter to and from the shop.

99' Ducati Monster 750

This is Dave's personal bike that he purchased after it was totaled in an accident. He and Steve completed a full tear-down and rebuild to bring it back to its former glory.
